return of the van Gogh Brothers
goodbye summer— and hello van Gogh Brothers! it seems like our hiatus just began and we’re coming back into it again with a (sold out) show at Donna Green’s amazing Blue Moon Barn on october 4th, a studio return (pictured above) for the “Belt Welts”- a pick-up band with David Minehan and other shadowy characters, and monthly shows at Vincent’s Worcester beginning in January (every second Saturday through may). we played a private show at the end of July for our Worcester friends and had an absolute blast. it made the idea of “coming back” very exciting for us. thank you, Ted and Tammy, and all who joined us.
i don’t know if it’s just coincidence, or if my blessedly busy life makes it this way, but i’m again writing en route to los angeles as i was for my last blog entry. this trip is again packed with music- on the green tonight at Trancas Market, on the Malibu Pier for the final installment of the Summer Series on sunday, and with my friends at the Composer’s Breakfast Club of Malibu at Dreamland on monday. another week bound to fly by— like the summer has, and pretty much all of 2025. carpe diem, folks…
on a personal level, i’m trying to suck as much out of summer as i can. we had a fantastic trip to provincetonw in august, and we’re planning a return trip to pleasant lake in new hampshire in early october. between provincetown, my visit to malibu and pleasant lake, i shouldn’t feel too much FOMO.
i look forward to seeing you all in the months ahead. enjoy the last days of summer, and keep the faith.
love,
jc
